I saw Dr. Powar today for my 27 week appointment. My blood pressure was normal and the nurse announced that I am up 15 pounds from the start. Assuming I keep on this trend (and away from the ice cream) I should be on track to gain the recommended 25-35 pounds in total.
When Dr. Powar came into the room Baby Iken was moving quite a bit - enough so you could see it through my shirt. Dr. Powar took one look and said it looked like he was having hiccups because of the rythmic nature of the movements. I was SO excited - I didn't think he had hiccups yet but now I know otherwise. His heartbeat sounded great so Dr. Powar wrote me a prescription for the "miracle" pre-natal vitamins and told me he'd see me in another three weeks, then every two weeks once I hit the 30 week mark. He'll do another ultrasound at week 32 where he will check my placenta to make sure it moved up during the course of pregnancy.
I told Dr. Powar about the annoying cramp I get when walking long distances and the slight edema (fat ankles) that I experienced last week, both of which he said are perfectly normal and can be managed with adequate fluid intake.
Last weekend we went to Baby Land to purchase our crib and dresser/changing table combo but unfortunately they had just sold their last set and were on backorder until mid to late June. Not ideal since I was hoping to get the nursery furnished before I get too huge, but Chad promised he will assemble the furniture and decorate if I can't. Since we weren't able to bring the crib home we decided to go car shopping instead. We looked at Toyota, Nissan and VW again, but this time walked away thinking the Nissan Murano might be our best option. Chad brought a Murano home from work today so I could test drive it before making the final decision. There are so many options... I almost wish a car would just show up in my driveway so I didn't have to think about it any more.
Next item on my to-do list is to find a daycare center and pediatrician. I've been asking around to my friends/neighbors/colleagues and making appointments to visit a few of each. Can't decide if it's better to select one near my home or work, so will probably look somewhere in between.

Athena loves the Nissan Murano. That would be her car of choice if she was getting a new one. Good to hear he's got the hiccups and things are progressing nicely. I can't wait to meet the little bugger.
